About Always Your Friend
Always Your Friend is an Italian care brand that develops handmade shampoos, conditioners and skin products for dogs based on organic ingredients. The formulas consist of 90 to 95 percent natural ingredients, with organic aloe vera and extra virgin olive oil as a solid base. Depending on the product, ingredients such as argan oil, jojoba oil, calendula or evening primrose oil are added. What is not in the products is what makes this brand interesting to us: no SLS, no parabens, no mineral oils, no artificial dyes and no GMOs.
We carry Always Your Friend because the products consistently do what they promise, even with dogs whose skin problems are worsened by regular shampoos. The Derma Revitalize line is in a category of its own here. These four products were developed for dogs with recurring skin problems, dandruff, itching and bald patches. The shampoos are highly concentrated; a bottle of 250 or 1000 ml will last for months to more than a year depending on the dog and the dilution. That makes Always Your Friend a fair choice in terms of price per use, even though the purchase price is higher than that of an average shampoo.

For which dogs is Always Your Friend suitable?
The products are suitable for virtually all dogs, from puppies to seniors. The Derma Revitalize line was specifically developed for dogs with skin problems, itching, dandruff or bald patches. The general care line (Miracle Volume, Keratin Restore, Celestial Conditioner) is suitable for daily and weekly use. For puppies and dogs with sensitive skin, we recommend the Puppy Powder Shampoo.
What is the difference between the Derma products and the regular shampoos?
The Derma Revitalize line is a four-step system (shampoo, serum, skin salve, hydration boost) that was developed for dogs for whom regular care is no longer sufficient. Think of recurring skin infections, atopy or coats that do not recover. The regular shampoos from Always Your Friend, such as the Keratin Restore Shampoo, are for regular coat care and each has its own focus, such as volume, recovery or deep cleaning.
Are the products also suitable for dogs with an allergy?
The formulas are free of SLS, parabens, artificial dyes, mineral oils and GMOs, and most products are hypoallergenic. The Puppy Powder Shampoo 2 in 1 is specially tailored for puppies and dogs with sensitive skin. For dogs with a known allergy, we recommend that you first discuss the ingredient list of the specific product with your veterinarian. In the store, we can help you with the choice.
How do I dilute the shampoos from Always Your Friend?
Most shampoos from Always Your Friend are concentrated and can be diluted to 1:20. The Deep Cleaning Shampoo is even more concentrated, up to 1:32, and therefore very economical in use. The correct dilution ratio is on every bottle. A bottle of 250 ml corresponds to approximately 5 liters of ready-to-use shampoo after dilution.
Does the grooming salon of Het Vachtje also use these products?
Yes. Our grooming salon uses the Derma Revitalize line for dogs that are being treated for skin problems or a coat that needs extra recovery. For tangles and long coats, we use the Wonder Spray Detangler to make combing easier. When making an appointment, ask about the possibilities, and we will look beforehand at which regimen is suitable for your dog.
