Het Vachtje is an Amsterdam pet store and dog boutique on the Haarlemmerdijk, founded by Nicole de Vries. Across our shop and webstore, Het Vachtje carries more than two thousand products for dogs, cats, small animals, birds, fish and reptiles, carefully selected for quality.
Our 250-square-metre shop at Haarlemmerdijk 97-105 brings food, treats, accessories, coat care and our grooming salon together under one roof. Customers come to us for sound advice, a carefully curated selection and a team that knows your pet and your questions.

Our team has more than twenty years of combined experience in the pet trade. We advise based on what suits your pet, not on what sells.

We do not carry everything on the market. We personally choose every brand in our range based on its ingredients, origin and quality.

Brands such as 4LAZYLEGS, William Walker, DWAM and Carnis are rarely found elsewhere in the Netherlands. At Het Vachtje, you can try them on, compare them and place an order.

Our grooming salon
In our grooming salon, we care for dogs of all breeds and sizes: clipping, hand stripping, washing and full coat care. We have experience with skin and ear conditions, including in breeds such as Doodles and poodles, and dogs with skin folds.
We are certified dog groomers and members of the ABHB. To book an appointment, call 06 8315 8529.
Pet food
We carry food for dogs and cats in a variety of options: dietary, organic, vegetarian, grain-free and raw. We stock the full basic range for small animals, birds (including outdoor birds) and fish.
Live reptile food is available weekly to order. If you're unsure which food is right for your pet, ask us in the shop or via chat.
Coat care
For at-home care, we stock coat care products and professional grooming supplies. We are happy to help you use them correctly.
If your dog has skin or ear problems, we can offer advice and, where necessary, consult with your vet.
Sustainable and organic
A substantial part of our range is produced sustainably, organically or ecologically. We deliberately select products based on their origin and production methods, as this is becoming a priority for more and more of our customers.
