Why deworm?
Worms are one of the most common parasites in dogs and cats and yet they are often forgotten during care. This is mainly because you only start seeing worms very late and are therefore less likely to think about them. However, all puppies and kittens receive worms from their mother at birth and it is therefore very important to deworm often, especially in young animals. In addition, worms are a zoonotic disease (that is, they can be transmitted from animals to humans and vice versa) and they are very easily transmitted via feces or an infected prey animal (e.g. a fly or mouse).
A worm infestation that is not treated or treated too late can lead to serious consequences, even death. All in all, enough reason to deworm your pets often enough (at least 3 times a year), for example with No Worm products.
Please note: It is important to deworm all dogs and cats living in the house, even those that do not or hardly go outside. They can still become infected through animals that do go outside or through you or other housemates.
Instructions
It is best to administer No Worm Pro with or after food. Cats are generally picky eaters and will therefore not easily take the pill out of hand. Use a tasty (strong smelling) candy (such as Yums) or the Easypill. Easypill is a delicious, strong-smelling candy in the form of a soft dough pillow, specially made to administer pills to animals that do not easily accept this. Due to the strong smell, the cat will not notice that something is hidden in it!
Frequency of administering deworming
Indoor cats that never come outside: 3 times a year
Indoor cats that occasionally come outside (e.g. on the balcony): 4 times a year.
Outdoor cats: 4x a year
Kittens: At 3, 5, 7 & 9 weeks of age , then at 3, 4, 5 and 6 months of age (at 12, 16, 20, and 24 weeks ). From 6 months of age, kittens transition to the adult cat schedule as described above.
If you are sure that your cat has worms or if your cat has had fleas, it is recommended to deworm several times in a row with an interval of 10 days. This is to ensure that nothing remains in the body.
