    Who is this product suitable for?

    Sanimal anti-Hairball snacks are suitable for cats from 12 weeks old.

    Hairballs in cats

    Cats groom themselves by washing with their own tongue. This keeps the coat clean, but as a result, cats can swallow a lot of hair. Most of the hair you swallow during grooming passes through the stomach and intestines without problems and leaves the body again via the stool.

    However, sometimes hair can form hairballs in the stomach. The cat can vomit up these hairballs, or they can stay in the body and cause an obstruction in the intestines.

    Does every cat get hairballs?

    Hairballs can occur in every cat. However, not all cats suffer from this (equally often). Long-haired cats seem to suffer from this more often than short-haired cats. There are also factors that cause a cat to groom itself more often, such as:

    • Skin problems / allergy
    • Fleas
    • Pain / stress
