The Deluxe dog collar by William Walker combines timeless elegance with maximum comfort. Made from buttery-soft nappa leather on both the inside and outside, it offers a simple yet refined look that makes every walk a stylish affair. The double layer of leather not only ensures durability but also provides a pleasant feel as it gently moulds to your dog's neck. The inside of the collar is also softly lined, making it exceptionally comfortable. The high-quality finish and materials, such as the solid brass fittings and holes with eyelets for size adjustment, make this collar a durable and reliable companion. An extra-small D-ring makes it easy to attach a dog tag.

Care:

Although leather products age individually over time and tell their own story, proper care is highly recommended to ensure the longest possible lifespan:

• Cleaning: Gently wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Handle suede with care.
• Care: Treat nappa leather regularly with a high-quality leather balm. Treat suede with special care products and brush it with a suede brush.
• Precautions: Avoid contact with water, direct sunlight and rough surfaces.

To avoid unnecessary exchanges, it is important to measure the correct collar size before ordering. We offer two simple methods for doing this:

Method 1 - Measuring with a suitable collar

If you already have a collar that fits your dog well, you can measure its length. Measure from the start of the buckle (where the pin rests) to the hole currently in use. Compare this measurement with the length information in our size chart and choose the correct size. Please note that this method works best if the new and old collars are of similar thickness (see the explanation below).

Method 2: Measuring the neck circumference

If you do not have a suitable collar to hand, you can measure your dog's neck circumference directly. Take a measuring tape (or a piece of string that you then measure with a ruler) and place it around your dog's neck where you want the collar to sit. The measuring tape should fit well but not dig in. Compare this measurement with the "Suitable neck circumference" information in our chart and choose the correct size. We have already allowed for a margin of 2-3 cm for a comfortable fit. If you prefer a particularly loose collar, you can mentally add another 1-2 cm.

Why do length and circumference differ? At first glance, measuring a collar seems simple, but there is an important difference between the measured length of a collar and the actual resulting neck circumference. This difference is caused by the thickness of the collar. If a collar measures 40 cm long when laid flat, it will not automatically have a circumference of 40 cm when worn. This is because the thickness of the collar reduces the inner diameter of the circle when it is around your dog's neck. The thicker the collar, the greater this effect. For example: a collar with a thickness of 8 mm reduces the inner diameter by these 8 mm, which, according to Pythagoras' theorem, results in a circumference that is approximately 2.5 cm smaller. This is why our plain collar with a length of 38 cm - 44 cm only fits a neck circumference of 33 cm - 39 cm. This difference takes into account both the smaller inner diameter and the extra room for comfort.
