The Sand dog collar in a light, soothing beige color is the ideal dog collar for both small and large dogs and anyone who does not want to compromise on functionality, comfort, and design.
Are you looking for a classically beautiful dog collar made of genuine leather that is extremely robust, durable, easy to maintain, and gentle on the dog's neck? Then a leather collar from the William Walker Plain collection is the perfect choice for you.
The Plain dog collar impresses throughout with its high-quality material selection, optimal functionality, and sleek design: 100% through-dyed and therefore wear-resistant genuine leather meets buckles made of sturdy brass. The thick padding on the inside of the collar adapts to the dog's neck and ensures a particularly comfortable fit. The folded leather edges round off the sleek design expertly.
And if you have found the perfect dog collar, of course you want it to last a particularly long time. That is why the dog collars from the Plain collection are extremely easy to care for and extremely durable!
Material:
- 100% through-dyed cowhide leather
- Buckles made of sturdy brass
Care: Compared to other conventional leather products, the Plain collection is very robust and easy to maintain. A cloth moistened with water combined with gentle rubbing is sufficient to clean the leather. The remaining moisture should then be absorbed with a dry cloth. For maintenance, we recommend using a suitable leather cleaner and a water-repellent spray, and conditioning the leather with a leather balm. The leather products from the Plain collection are not suitable for swimming and must be protected from extreme moisture.
To avoid unnecessary exchanges, it is important to measure the correct collar size before ordering. We offer you two simple methods to do this:
Method 1 - Measuring with a collar that already fits
If you already have a collar that fits your dog well, you can measure the length of this collar. Measure from the beginning of the buckle (where the pin rests) to the hole currently in use. Compare this measurement with the length information in our size chart and choose the correct size. Note that this method works best if the new and old collars are of similar thickness (see explanation below).
Method 2: Measuring the neck circumference
If you do not have a suitable collar at hand, you can measure the circumference of your dog's neck directly. Take a measuring tape (or a piece of string that you then measure with a ruler) and place it around your dog's neck where you want the collar to be. The measuring tape should fit well, but not cut in. Compare this value with the "Suitable neck circumference" information in our table and choose the correct size. We have already accounted for a margin of 2-3 cm for a comfortable fit. If you prefer a particularly loose collar, you can mentally add another 1-2 cm.
Why do length and circumference differ? At first glance, measuring a collar seems simple, but there is an important difference between the measured length of a collar and the actual resulting neck circumference. The difference is caused by the thickness of the collar. If a collar measures 40 cm long when laid flat, it will not automatically have a circumference of 40 cm when worn. This is because the thickness of the collar reduces the inner diameter of the circle when it is around your dog's neck. The thicker the collar, the greater this effect. For example: a collar with a thickness of 8 mm reduces the inner diameter by these 8 mm, which according to Pythagoras' theorem results in a circumference that is approximately 2.5 cm smaller. That is why our plain collar with a length of 38 cm - 44 cm only fits a neck circumference of 33 cm - 39 cm. This difference takes into account both the smaller inner diameter and the extra room for wearing comfort.
